An Era of Experience is made up of four collaborating Manchester businesses providing authentic vintage themed parties. Silver Sixpence in her Shoe, ForTheLoveOfVintage, And The Dish Ran Away With The Spoon and Miss Bethany Jane Davies decided to combine their skills to create An Era of Experience back in 2012.
1. Where Do We Host Our Parties?Era travels all over the North West, South & West Yorkshire, Lancashire, Derbyshire and Cheshire to create beautiful, interactive and stylish events which are great for all ages. We travel to clients homes, hotels, apartments, holiday cottages and even one occasion we held an Era party in a vintage clothes boutique in Leeds.
Era parties include a 2 hour workshop by international bridal accessories designer Silver Sixpence in her Shoe. With all materials and tuition included, even sewing beginners can create a beautiful bespoke handmade headpiece. With a huge selection of ribbons, vintage laces and jewels, every hen can create something unique – a stunning keepsake and perfect wedding outfit accessory.
We are always impressed by the creations our hens make. Parties can be themed to a specific era. One of the most popular parties themes is the 1920s. Hens make pretty headbands with feather details – enviable headwear for any hen channelling her inner flapper.
3. Tea And Cake Anyone?What could be better than a delicious hand baked luxury afternoon tea after a busy 2 hours crafting.
Era’s Award winning Fortheloveofvintage has a vast collection of the finest authentic vintage china which is made all the more beautiful by the baked delights from And The Dish Ran away with The Spoon. Our guests enjoy a selection of sandwiches, savoury pastries, cakes, tray bakes, scones, cupcakes and chocolate dipped strawberries.
4. It’s Vintage Makeover Time!One of the highlights of the Era experience is the vintage makeover workshop. Era’s Queen of Vintage Glamour, Miss Bethany Jane Davies, teaches hens the techniques to achieve authentic vintage looks and our Brides to be get the full hair & make up makeover, re-creating their favourite vintage look.
Bethany opened the doors to her Hollywood inspired beauty parlour in Manchester last year. This stunning venue is now available to host Era parties and makes a beautiful vintage backdrop to our events.
5. A Hen Party Would Not Be Complete Without A Cocktail MasterclassAs one of the first vintage hen party experiences, we are always looking for ways to develop the activities we offer to our hens. Our latest party experience includes a cocktail master class by The Drinks Enthusiast, available when booking a party at The Vintage Beauty Parlour. Vintage themed cocktails and their stories with our expert mixologist Dave Marsland AKA The Drinks Enthusiast.
