Planning A Hen Party?

There’s a lot to do!  Don’t get overwhelmed.  Instead, follow our 10 Dos and Don’ts for planning a hen party!

1. Do ask the bride to be these 5 Questions.

Ask the bride these 5 questions.  Make sure you do this before you start making plans! It is important to establish early in the process exactly what she wants from her hen party.

2. Don’t forget to ask for help.

Planning a hen party is a tough job. Make sure the bridesmaids and other hens all contribute to the hen party by delegating small tasks to people. You don’t have to suffer alone 🙂

3. Do send out an approximate budget to the hens

Make sure to do this before you book anything. Make sure everybody is on board with how much everything is going to cost. You don’t want to pay for everything and then have hens turn around unable to pay. Be warned- this does happen!

4. Do include some handmade elements at the hen party!

It is the little personal touches that the bride to be will love and remember. Make gift bags If you are not a naturally crafty person. They are really easy and everybody always loves a gift!

5. Don’t forget to organise fun hen party games and ice breakers.

Not only are they super fun, they also help people to get to know each other. Don’t forget to download our

6. Do make sure you take lots of photographs.

The bridesmaids should really make sure that they take lots of photographs that can later be shared on social media (although some may not be suitable for social media!). If lots of the hens like Instagram or Twitter than you can always set up a hashtag for the event. Don’t forget to add #henbox too so we can have a nose!

7. Don’t forget to organise all transport before the hen party.

It is easy to forget planning taxis when there are so many other elements of the hen party to organise! However booking and waiting for taxis on a saturday night in the U.K. & Ireland is a nightmare no matter where you are staying. So get them booked in advance to avoid the delays!

8. Do put together a playlist for the weekend.

You can have it playing in the background during meals, when you are playing games and getting ready for a night out. Make sure you add a mix of chart toppers, classics and the bride’s favourite tunes! We have put together our hen party playlist which will hopefully give you some inspiration!

9. Do have a rough itinerary put together for the hen party.

Sometimes fun really does need to be organised! If nothing else a rough itinerary will allow you to relax on the day and enjoy yourself without worrying about what to do next.

10. Do have fun!

It sounds silly but on the day it is really easy to get caught up with organising people and activities. Make sure you to take some time to simply relax with your friends and have fun!
