One of our favourite blogs at HenBox HQ is the colourful and creative Studio DIY. We are big fans of their fun and bold DIY projects. Plus we love their gorgeous imagery – pink features heavily on the blog which we LOVE.
Studio DIY is owned and run by Kelly Mindell – a superstar blogger and all round stylish chick. Kelly lives in LA and recently married her husband Jeff. Before her wedding, Kelly’s bridesmaids organised a wonderfully colourful citrus theme hen party in Brooklyn, New York. We have wanted to feature this fun hen party since we spotted it and hope it provides you with lots of inspiration for your hen do.

Kelly’s bridesmaids drew upon all the colours from the citrus spectrum from bright lemon yellows and zingy tangerine oranges to peachy pastels and deep rich greens. They made sure everything else in the room was cool and white to make sure their colour scheme and decorations really popped.
A clever way to use a pretty decoration that you would normally hang. This is also such a simple look to recreate! Take a look here for honeycombs in almost every colour!
If your bride to be isn’t a fan of hen party accessories then a fun alternative is to wear an outfit that matches your hen party theme. In Kelly’s case she wore a pretty lemon frock which suited the citrus theme perfectly.
Kelly’s bridesmaids knew that what people remember on a hen party is often the small details. They can really set apart a hen do. The citrus theme extended to all the hen part details including the hen do invitations, the ‘Pucker Up’ cookies, the hen party bingo and even the lovely lemon drop favours.
