As inspiring as these images are, it can be harder than it looks to make your hen party venue look this incredible. We’ve come up with 5 rules to follow when decorating your hen do space to make sure you’re on the right lines.
Here goes:
First things first, mix pink shades with other colours. Don’t go overboard with pink! Sure you want to make an impact but if you just use pink, it’ll look too much. Instead, mix pink hen party decorations with gold and white pieces. This will break up the pink and give it a fresher, classier look.
Next up, make sure you use different shades of pink. Don’t stick to just one shade of fuchsia. Instead mix baby pinks with hot pinks, pastel peaches with bright cerise shades. This will create a more interesting overall feel to your hen do venue.
Now you’ll want to consider, setting up a focal point. In this shoot, there are two focal points: the table and the dresser they use to serve drinks and nibbles. You don’t need to have two focal points. If you’re on a budget, just focus on one area and decorate it with all your hen party decorations. This will create more of an impact than if you were to spread all your decorations across a large space. Your focal point should serve a purpose. We suggest using your focal point to serve food and drink.
Remember it’s the more the merrier when it comes to hen party decorations! Not every hen party budget allows for an extravagant quantity of hen party decorations. But where you can, remember you can never really have too many pom poms, balloons and bunting. Adding colour to your hen party accommodation will really make your hen party stand out from the rest.
Last but not least, use different heights. The key to making your focal point look strong is to use different heights. So set up a cake stand to display your favourite hen party cupcakes. And use an ice bucket to display your prosecco or champagne bottles. These will create height. Then use paper party cups to present your drinks. This will create a different height. Repeat this and you will create a beautiful hen party focal point.
TOP TIP: Remember, it’s always a good idea to ask your hen party venue whether it’s okay for you to decorate it. If they won’t allow you to hang decorations such as paper honeycombs, ask your venue whether they’d mind if you stack them in corners or on tables.
Now we’re well aware that hen party decorations are usually the last thing you think about when planning a hen party. You may not have a lot of budget left over to create the hen party venue of your dreams. That’s why we’ve compiled our 5 favourite ways to create a beautiful pink hen party on a budget.
We LOVE the ‘She leaves a little sparkle wherever she goes’ sign used on the drinks display. Instead of buying something similar, think about making one yourself. To tie your theme together, why not serve pink drinks? Whether it’s pink lemonade or pink fizz, serving pink drinks is another way to make an impact on a budget. After all, they’ll add colour to your venue without having to buy extra decorations.
Similar to our previous point, if you haven’t got a lot of money to spend on pink hen party decorations, think about matching your food to your theme. Pink fairy cakes, iced biscuits, macarons or donuts will do the trick.
Rather than spreading your decorations out all over the room, use them to decorate just one focal point. This will make more of an impact. And remember that you can DIY your shop bought decorations. For example, if you buy metres and metres of bunting or garlands, why not cut it up and use it to decorate different areas of your focal point or your venue.
Ask your guests to wear pink! Not all brides will want you to do this so make sure you check before you ask your guests. And remember not all your guests will want to wear pink either so consider this before you commit to the idea! That being said, we love the idea of asking all your guests to wear a colour that will match your theme. Whether it’s a pink dress or a pink flower crown, it’s a nice way to bring colour into your venue, especially if you’ve run out of budget to decorate your venue with lots of pink hen party decorations.
